When arrested, the man reportedly had a newspaper clipping of the killing on his person.
According to a report from The Associated Press, Arthur Morgan III is likely to be sentenced Wednesday to life in jail for strapping his daughter into her car seat, weighing it down with a tire jack and tossing it into a creek.
In April, Arthur was convicted of murder in the death of Tierra Morgan-Glover.
Citing prosecutors, The AP notes that Morgan killed Tierra because he was upset that the child’s mother had ended their engagement.
NBC10.com reports that Arthur tossed his daughter from an overpass into a creek inside Shark River Park in Wall Township, New Jersey.
The UK’s Mirror says that Arthur had told his daughter he was taking her to see Happy Feet II.
Tierra’s body was recovered from the creek in November 2011.
NBC10.com adds that Morgan was arrested in California shortly after murdering his daughter. He reportedly had a newspaper clipping of the killing on his person.
