After posting two free pictures of her bridal dress on Instagram, Kim Kardashian made demand for her remaining wedding photos even greater.
Despite their wedding being a private and intimate affair, fans were given a glimpse into Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s nuptials this weekend thanks to two wedding pictures posted on Kim’s Instagram account.
In the first picture, the newlyweds exchange a passionate kiss in front of a beautiful wall of white flowers. Kardashian’s dress, a Givenchy Haute Couture lace gown that trailed with a flowing long silk veil, steals most of the attention away from the kiss and West’s dapper tuxedo.
The second image shows the couple happily walking down the aisle after saying “I do” and finally being pronounced husband and wife. Their adorable baby girl North West appears in the picture, being held by her grandmother Kris Jenner.
Kardashian’s stylist Riccardo Tisci also posted a gorgeous black and white Instagram photo from the final dress fitting of the gown’s long veil and backless frock, and captioned the image, “Final friends fitting #biggestday #kimandkanye #love #paris #couturesalon.”
West and Kardashian put forth a surprisingly good effort keeping the details of their wedding a secret from the public, leaving fans and the media uncertain over the date and location of the ceremony until mere days before it was scheduled to take place. With Forbes estimating that West earned $20 million between June 2012 and June 2013 and Kardashian brought in $10 million, they could certainly afford to keep images of the wedding private, but Fifteen Minutes PR founder Howard Bragman doubts they even want to do that.
“That’s not the way they lives their lives. It’s just not. If they didn’t do it in public, it didn’t happen. That’s not Kim’s style,” said Bragman. “It would be more surprising if they didn’t release this in a big way.”
According to Bragman, we can expect to see more than just the two Instagram pictures Kim released soon, since the couple stands to make at least one million dollars for more images of the wedding.
“Certainly it’s a 7-figure deal. They sell magazines. People care. The bottom line is, people do care. They’re incredibly aspirational and people want it.”
Former Los Angeles paparazzo Jennifer Buhl, who wrote Shooting Stars: My Unexpected Life Photographing Hollywood’s Most Famous, thinks that Kardashian has definite plans for what to do with the rest of her wedding photos and a great understanding of how to properly market herself. While fans may think that Kardashian posted the Instagram pictures for them, Buhl believes releasing two beautiful images for free was a primarily strategic move.
“The two photos are a teaser. In theory, most news sources or magazine can use those photos. Most publications feel that those are free pictures. They’ll use them and credit Kim’s Instagram account. These photos will run everywhere and then they’ll have one big spread somewhere. That was a smart strategy. A lot more people will see the wedding dress and it will elevate their fame.”
“She makes millions of dollars a year on her tabloid photos, which is pretty outrageous… She was already a millionaire but now she’s even richer because of her media tactics. She knows how to work the media and get famous.”
