The famous pair is enjoying a “quiet honeymoon” in a secret location.
After the pomp and publicity of their wedding in Italy, newlyweds Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are enjoying a honeymoon that is quiet by comparison, at least for such a famous couple. Following the Saturday ceremony and reception in Florence, the pair took a private jet to Cork Airport, where they arrived at 4 p.m. local time.
The couple and an entourage of personal assistants and bodyguards were met by a fleet of Mercedes limousines with darkened windows and whisked away to an undisclosed location. There have been several guesses as to exactly where the pair is hiding out, none of them confirmed.
When West performed in Cork back in 2006 and 2009, he stayed at the Castlemartyr Resort, a five-star hotel located in a 17th-century manor house. The singer gave the staff of the hotel high marks for respecting his privacy, which has led to multiple media sources suggesting that the honeymooners are staying there. The Irish Times has claimed that the couple is at Castle Oliver in County Limerick, while other sources have brought up an estate in Munster.
The paparazzi, those intrepid photographers that are generally pretty savvy when tracking down reclusive celebrities, have been spotted at the Castlemartyr, which would seem to fuel the rumors that Kimye is indeed staying in the hotel. Although the hotel manager has refused to confirm or deny reports, helicopters have been seen buzzing overhead, lending credence to the reports that the Castlemartyr is the chosen honeymoon location.
Wherever the happy couple is relaxing in Ireland, they’re missing the company of their daughter North. The 11-month-old did not come along for the honeymoon and is being cared for by Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner.
The famous newlyweds are expected to spend one day sightseeing in Dublin before returning to the U.S. on Friday, but plans could change if the media manages to scope out exactly where the Wests are having their “quiet honeymoon.”
