Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, along with their reported 3000 invited guests, will gather in Florence, Italy, on Saturday for private party rumored to be the Kimye wedding.
Last minute preparations are underway at the historic Belvedere fort in Florence, Italy, as Kanye West and his fiancee Kim Kardashian prepare to host a private party on Saturday that may or may not actually be their wedding. While the couple originally claimed that their wedding will be an “intimate affair”, they reportedly invited nearly 3000 guests to celebrate with them. Despite the economic boost that the party might bring to the Florence area, reactions amongst most local residents are split over the Hollywood “invasion” that is soon to take place.
In addition to the shockingly large guest list, sources claim non-uniformed Italian militia have now been asked to join Kim and Kanye’s personal security team for the event.
City spokeman Marco Agnoletti has said the couple will pay 360,000 euros ($531,347) to Florence for the chance to host their event at the 16th century fort, and most of that money will go towards restoring the fortress for the public. However, that still is not enough for some Florence locals, who worry about how the star-studded event will affect the traffic and overall peacefulness that they are accustomed to.
“It’s an annoyance for the population, for neighbours. It’s a Hollywood invasion that brings to the little streets of Florence a style that is really not in tune with the nature of Florentines,” said Diego, a middle-aged man who owns a house close to the Belvedere fort.
Florence residents don’t have to deal with the Hollywood “invasion” for long, though, as Kim and Kanye’s stay in the city is only scheduled to last for one day. On Thursday night, Kim held her bachelorette party with friends at the Eiffel tower in Paris, and sources claim she ordered 15 bottle of champagne for the occasion. The couple was spotted lunching together in a French chateau west of Paris owned by iconic designer Valentino today, and followed the meal with a visit to the famous Chateau of Versailles. They will reportedly be leaving Florence on Sunday and heading to a villa six miles out of town, called Corsini Villa of Costello.
