According to a report from Reuters, 16-year-old Aazis Richardson shot and killed a Pennsylvania taxi driver on Friday who he thought was taking a long route to charge him extra money. The teen has been charged with murder and robbery.

Richardson admitted to firing two shots to the back of 47-year-old Vincent Darbenzio’s head when the cab driver didn’t follow his directions. The teen also took $500 from Darbenzio’s pocket and left the scene of the crime. The cab driver’s body was discovered by a fellow cab driver.

“Richardson said he got upset because the cap driver was taking the long way and ripping him off,” police wrote in a criminal complaint posted online by The Times-Tribune of Scranton.

While in police custody, The Associated Press reports that Richardson was asked if being ripped off was justification to kill someone, the teen said, “To me, it is.”

Police discovered Richardson hiding in an attic with blood on his jeans.

According to the New York Daily News, Richardson is also a suspect in a triple homicide in Newark, New Jersey.
