Thanks to the Science Channel the world now knows.

In a 30-second promo for the fifth season of Through the Wormhole, Freeman takes two hilarious drags on helium and delivers his lines in a Donald Duck-style voice.

According to the Naked Scientists at the University of Cambridge,  “sound travels faster in helium so the vibrations will get from your vocal chords to your mouth quicker so your throat will resonate at a higher frequency and hence a higher pitch.”
