The South American stunner announces that too many problems in her relationship have made it "not fun anymore."
Modern Family star Sofia Vergara is back on the market.
Vergara, 41, issued a public statement on her personal WhoSay page announcing her separation from fiancé Nick Loeb, 38.
“Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have decided to be apart,” writes Vergara, in the post.
Vergara and Loeb, a film and television producer, became engaged in July 2012.
According to statements she made to E! News in October 2013, Vergara was intending to plan a “very big wedding.” At that time, she understood the massive undertaking that such a wedding would require.
“It’s going to be when I have time to not only to plan the wedding, but then take time off after the wedding because it’s going to be big,” added Vergara.
Alas, that time never arrived.
In a February 2014 interview with Ellen Degeneres, the Columbian beauty lamented that she has been to busy to “even plan anything” for the wedding.
She addressed the time commitment necessary for a successful romance — and how that was lacking in their relationship — in her WhoSay announcement post.
“We have been having too many problems with having to figure out how to spend time together and because of my work and now his, it’s been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore. We are still very close but we believe this is the best thing for us right now.”
Vergara is currently filming an as-yet untitled new movie co-starring Reese Witherspoon in New Orleans.
