A California teen stuns.
It’s the performance of a lifetime for one California teen.
Seventeen-year-old Brett Nichols absolutely nailed his high school performance of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” including a moon walk and everything.
The teen explained his preparation for the performance, saying he spent hours studying video of Jackon’s performance.
“This is something that really inspires me, and then it was later I thought, ‘Why isn’t this something I can’t do?’” the California teen said during an earlier radio interview.
Nicols explained that YouTube was a major source of finding old clips of Jackson. He noted that the current video of him dancing in front of high school classmates already has around 7 million views and counting.
“YouTube came around and you could find all the videos and songs I remembered hearing,” Nichols said.
The amazing performance has already captured the attention of the Jackson family, which has reportedly invited the teen to visit the Jackson estate later this year.
Meanwhile, Jackson’s hologram made an appearance earlier this month at the Billboard Music Awards. The image was created with an old magician’s trick using a mirror, a 2D effect known as “Pepper’s Ghost.”
Jackson, who died in 2009, was the top-selling artist that year, selling some 8.3 million albums. The documentary “This Is It” became the highest-grossing concert film ever.
