Scene showing Hugh Jackman's bare behind edited out of Indian release of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The Business-Standard reported on Thursday morning that a scene in the seventh X-Men film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, had been censored in India. The scene in question contains a shot of a naked Wolverine from behind. Rakesh Kumar, CEO of the Central Board of Film Certification, announced that the version of the movie cleared to be released in India on Friday will not contain the shot.
Jackman had spoken about the scene in a live chat with Daily News readers on Wednesday. “You have no idea what goes into the lead up to a scene like that,” he told readers, mentioning that it was shot exactly a year previously. “I stopped drinking water for 24 hours, I pumped up on set for about an hour before shooting. And fell asleep by 2 o’clock.”
India censors are not the only ones to fail to appreciate his effort. Jackman reported that when he watched the movie with his nine-year-old-daughter, she said, “Dad, why aren’t you wearing any underwear?”
The U.S. version X-Men: Days of Future Past will give fans their chance to see Wolverine’s rear end when it opens on Friday.
