The former model breaks her four-year silence on the subject.
The former wife of Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren, has spoken publicly for the first time about her 2010 divorce from the famous golf star.
In a new interview with People magazine, Nordegren, 34, shares her current situation with readers.
“I have moved on and I am in a good place,” says the Swedish former model.
She insists that things are “really good” between her and Woods, 38.
The pair married in 2004, but divorced in 2010 after Woods’ serial infidelity came to light. They have two children: a daughter Sam Alexis, 6, and a son Charlie Axel, 5.
“In the beginning, you tamp down the animosity for the kids’ sake,” says the blonde stunner, to the magazine. “I’m not going to deny that I went through the wringer. But I don’t think I doubted we’d end up here. That was always my dream, that the kids can have two loving parents that show respect for each other. And I feel that’s what they have.”
“My relationship with Tiger is centered around our children and we are doing really good – we really are – and I am so happy that is the case.”
Nordegren, who recently earned a degree in psychology from Rollins College, confides that she participated in intensive therapy at the time of the breakup. She continues to speak to her therapist on a weekly basis to keep “working on myself.”
Woods and his former wife live 25 minutes apart in southern Florida.
“He is a great father,” adds Nordegren.
