Things are getting messy for The View’s Sherri Shepherd.
The talk show is in the midst of two messy custody battles for her children: the first with her separated husband, Lamar Sally, and the second with her ex-husband, Jeffrey Tarpley, over their 9-year-old son Jeffrey Jr.
Sherri’s most recent husband, Lamar Sally, has filed for a legal separation in the state of California. He cites fraud as a reason for the court to dismiss their signed prenuptial agreement.
He wants full custody of their unborn child that’s currently being carried by a surrogate. He also wants spousal support from Shepherd.
In response Shepherd then filed a divorce filing in the state of New Jersey in an effort to enforce her prenuptial agreement that would grant her full custody of their child.
Simultaneously, her ex-husband Jeffrey Tarpley now says he wants full custody of their son, Jeffrey Jr.
Tarpley is citing that Sherri Shepherd’s workaholic nature has put Jeffrey Jr. in a bad position. Jeffrey Jr. is a special needs child that Tarpley claims has been neglected by Shepherd and her “unskilled nannies.”
Tarpley filed an emergency request to change their parenting arrangement. Although the request was officially denied by the judge, a new hearing is scheduled for July.
The hearing will explore Tarpley’s allegations that the neglect has caused Jeffrey Jr. to fall behind in school and maintain poor hygiene, among other complaints.
Sherri Shepherd responded that Jeffrey is an absentee father who doesn’t deserve any rights.
Whatever the case is, it appears that one custody battle is setting off another one for Sherri Shepherd.
