Barbara Walters would still like to interview the Pope

Her last show was a bit of reunion, and a lot of guests stopped by to celebrate, including Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Michael Douglas.

Barbara Walters finished her reign on The View this week. Her last episode filmed on Thursday and aired Friday morning.

“The good news is, that now I will have time to get Botox…but now that I’m no longer going to be on the air, I don’t need Botox,” Walters joked about her retirement after more than five decades on TV.

Her last show was a bit of reunion, and a lot of guests stopped by to celebrate, including Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Michael Douglas. The current hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, and Jenny McCarthy also had a chance to catch up with past hosts Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulos, Joy Behar, Lisa Ling, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Rosie O’Donnell. There was quite the crew.

On her long and varied career Walters said:

“Finally, how proud when I see all the young women making and reporting the news. If I did anything to make that happen, that’s my legacy. Who knows what the future brings. Maybe instead of goodbye, I should say a bientot, which in French means, ‘See you later.'”

Walters may be setting her sites on new interview subjects already.

“I would love to do an interview with the Pope. I do my homework, so I have a certain sense of authority. Sometimes I know more about the person than they do themselves. I’m very rarely nervous. When I finish an interview, I do ‘shoulda, coulda, woulda,’ and it drives me crazy, but when I’m actually doing the interview, I’m fine in authority and that’s a good feeling,” she told Us Magazine.
