Check it out: Batman vs. Superman director offers first look at Batmobile and Batsuit

Director Zac Snyder tweeted a photo of his Batman and the Batmobile.

The world got its first look at the newest film incarnation of Batman on Tuesday. Director Zac Snyder tweeted a photo taken on the Detroit set of his follow-up to 2013’s Man of Steel. The new movie will star Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman, and Ben Affleck, stepping into the role of Batman for the first time.

The shadowy photo, shot with Snyder’s Monochrom camera, offers only a slight glimpse into this latest Batman. A man, presumably Affleck, is pictured wearing the film’s version of the iconic Batsuit, which still has the signature cape and cowl but appears to have been updated, including sleeves more specifically emphasizing the hero’s muscular arms. The photo also features a Batmobile that seems sleeker and more aerodynamic than the vehicle driven by Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy of films.

The film, whose working title is Batman vs. Superman, also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Gal Godot as Wonder Woman. It is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
