Introducing "The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore."
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Larry Wilmore will replace Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report when the latter succeeds David Letterman on CBS’s “Late Show” in 2015.
According to THR, Wilmore, who has been with The Daily Show since 2006, will anchor The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore.
The New York Times adds that the idea for the show came from Jon Stewart himself. Michele Ganeless, the president of Comedy Central, told the newspaper in an interview that Colbert’s vacated time slot would “provide an opportunity for the underrepresented voices out there.”
“I’m beyond excited to have this chance to continue my relationships with Comedy Central and the brilliant Jon Stewart,” said Wilmore, according to THR. “I love the city of New York and promise to only wear my Laker t-shirts when I’m layering.”
