Perhaps Netflix will create another season?
TV Guide reports that NBC has cancelled Community, Revolution, Growing Up Fisher, Believe and Crisis. While the cancellation of the last four shows on that list probably won’t upset more than a handful of people, Community had a devoted following after five seasons.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show struggled in the ratings during its five seasons on NBC. The fifth season averaged 3.8 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the key demographic.
As can be the case with popular TV shows, Community has dealt with its fair share of turmoil over the years. Community creator Dan Harmon, for example, had issues with actor Chevy Chase, who left the show in November 2012.
“[Chevy is] a befuddled old man, but he’s also the guy who calls you to his trailer and shakes the script in the air and says: ‘I’m not a befuddled old man! I’m sexy! I could be the star of this show! I’m not gay. You’re writing me as if I’m gay’,” Harmon said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
