'It's morphin time!' Power Rangers movie in the works

The first Power Rangers movie was released in 1995 and hauled in more than $66 million worldwide.

The acting was terrible, but the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series holds a soft spot in the heart of almost every kid from the ’90s.

If that soft spot still yearns for those days when bad TV was good TV, then you’re in luck. According to a report from The Daily Beast, a new Power Rangers film is in the works due to a partnership between Lionsgate and Saban Brands.

“Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level,” Haim Saban, creator of the franchise, said in a statement obtained by E! News. “In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we’re confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own.”
