Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie to reunite on screen for first time in nearly 10 years

The couple's last on-screen appearance was 2005's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."

Actors and life partners Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are set to star in an upcoming movie written by Jolie, sources confirm to the Hollywood Reporter.

The project remains tightly under wraps, with only minimal information available. However, industry insiders suspect the screenplay is a relationship drama that Jolie, 38, penned several years ago.

The story follows a troubled married couple who attempt to save their relationship by going on one last vacation.

No director is attached to the project, but some speculate that Jolie will take a seat in the director’s chair.

She’s currently completing work on Unbroken, a World War II drama based on a true story, that she directed. Joel and Ethan Coen wrote the script.

In 2011, she wrote, directed and produced In the Land of Blood and Honey, a love story set amid the Bosnian War.

Reviews of the movie — Jolie’s directorial debut — were mixed to favorable. The film earned Jolie an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Directing.

This upcoming project marks the first time Jolie and Pitt, 50, will share the screen since 2005’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith — the film set where they met and reportedly fell in love.

The relationship made headlines as, at the time, Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston. They later separated and divorced.

Pitt and Jolie announced their engagement in April 2012, after seven years together. They have six children.

A release date for the upcoming film starring Jolie and Pitt has yet to be released.
