Scandal star Kerry Washington was pretty sly about giving birth to her first child…because the news just broke but it already happened almost two weeks ago, according to a report from TMZ.

Washington and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha welcomed their daughter into the world on Apr. 21 in Los Angeles, giving their child the name Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha.

No statement has been officially released by Washington herself, but TMZ obtained copies of the new baby’s birth certificate and confirmed the news.

Washington also surprised fans when she got married last June, since there had been no public indication that she and Nnamdi, a former NFL player, had even been dating. Very sneaky, Kerry!

In this day and age when everything a celebrity does is reported within minutes via Twitter or other forms of real-time media, how much credit does Washington deserve for keeping her birth under wraps for nearly two weeks?
