A new video showing an unidentified object in Mississippi has left scientists stunned.

The video, which shows a series of floating lights late at night, were caught by a camera in mid February. The mysterious lights appeared in the sky over the 150 acres that Rainer and Edith Shattles home in Jackson County, Mississippi, according to officials.

“We have unusual things happen around here that happen, but it’s usually associated with our grandchildren. But this case, we didn’t know what it was,” said the Shattles. “I was looking for a nice buck to be showing up on the trail camera actually.”

The video shows a deer in the area, when at 7:29 PM, a dim light appears. At 7:35, the same light appears to get brighter, when a weird shape then appears on the camera. The pair said they have spoken with a number of people regarding the strange incident, but no one seems to have an answer.

“If it’s alien, I’m not sure about that. But it’s definitely a UFO. Now whether it’s a government drone or what, I wish if nothing else, one of them would step up and say, ‘Yes, that’s ours.’ It’s a puzzle that may never be solved and it’s one that’s kind of fun, adds a little flavor to life, I guess you could say. We are just fascinated over it because of the fact that it was right here and it’s real,” said Rainer Shattles.

Local astronomers say they video does not align with any celestial events, such as meteorite showers. It remains unclear whether there were any unidentified air traffic in the area.
