A 19-year-old Arizona man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing outside Selena Gomez's home in Tarzana, CA.
TMZ reported that Los Angeles police arrested a 19-year-old man lurking outside of the “Come & Get It” singer’s home in Tarzana in the San Fernando Valley Saturday morning. Officer Rosario Herrera told ABC News that police arrived at the scene after receiving a call from a family member inside the home, claiming there was a man trespassing on the property. It is not known if Gomez was home at the time of the arrest, but TMZ reported that the trespasser told the police he was there to see the Spring Breakers star in person.
According to The Associated Press, the 19-year-old suspect’s name is Juan Daniel Garcia of El Mirage, Arizona. He was booked on suspicion of trespassing, and it is unclear whether Garcia has a lawyer yet. This is not the first time that Gomez has had an issue with a stalker. In 2011, TMZ reported that Gomez received a death threat from 46-year-old Thomas Brodnicki, who had a criminal history of stalking. Brodnicki had apparently said he was going to kill Gomez during a mental evaluation. He also claimed to have had a conversation with God about killing the singer. After Brodnicki claimed that he had already flown to L.A. three times and visited Gomez’s workplace, the singer and her lawyer, Blair Berk, requested a restraining order and the LAPD Threat Management Unit got involved. A judge granted the singer her restraining order in January 2011.
Gomez’s publicist has not been reached for comment on the matter. According to E! Online, the singer was in good spirits on Friday after her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber’s arrest in Miami while street racing. Bieber was charged with a DUI and resisting arrest.
