The young singer showcased her Grammy-nominated material during a small, private concert.
On Thursday, Jan. 23, Grammy-nominated singer Lorde, 17, sang at a private concert sponsored by Delta Airlines, reports The Boston Herald. She performed at Soho House in Los Angeles.
The native New Zealander, born Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O’Connor, began the show with “Glory and Gore” off her 2013 release “Pure Heroine.” She later performed her smash hit “Royals,” a song that has earned a Grammy nod for song and record of the year. The song is also nominated for best pop solo performance while “Pure Heroine” is nominated for best pop vocal album.
The tightly packed crowd included Cuba Gooding Jr., Lance Bass, “X-Factor” winners Alex and Sierra and Kelly Cuoco of “Big Bang Theory” fame.
After the performance Lorde thanked the crowd and encouraged them to watch the Grammy Awards on CBS. The program airs Sunday, Jan. 26.
