Which team do you think will win?
Among the 18 new castaways on this season’s brand spanking new installment of Survivor, Miami Marlins President David Samson is ready to take the lead on the Brains Team.
Samson joins the already robust cast which includes a high-stakes poker player, an ex-NFL cheerleader, a nuclear engineer and former NBA All-Star Cliff Robinson.
According to The Kansas City Star, Samson lists his claim to fame as getting the government in Miami to “contribute over $350 million to a new baseball park during the recession.” That takes some serious negotiating skills on his part. Sure those will come in handy when it comes time to setting the stage for those Tribal Councils.
TV Guide issued a detailed roster of the competitors this season, with each group being divided into three major categories: Beauty, Brains and Brawn.
Former NBA All-Star Cliff Robinson heads up the Brawn Tribe, along with two police officers, a hairstylist, a pilates instructor, and a martial arts instructor.
The Brains Tribe features newest addition David Samson, President of the Miami Marlins, along with pro poker player Garrett Adelstein, a nuclear engineer, an attorney, and an accountant that goes by “Tasha.”
In the Beauty Tribe, Miss Kentucky Teen USA heads the charge, along with a young student, a Philadelphia social worker, a male model, a horse trainer, and of course, Morgan McLeod, 21-year-old Ex-NFL Cheerleader from San Jose, California
While each tribe has been divided into three distinct categories, TV Guide notes that each team features someone who comes from a significant sports background. NBA Star Cliff Robinson spent the majority of his 18-year career playing for the Portland Trailblazers; David Samson stands as the current President of MLB sports team the Miami Marlins; and Morgan McLeod was selected to be on the San Francisco 49ers cheerleading squad when she was still in high school. Impressive backgrounds!
Each group may highlight a predominant characteristic of the competitors, but it will take a combination of all three to make it to the final round of Survivor.
Who do you think will win the challenge of being the last standing on this season of Survivor?
According to The Kansas City Star, this season takes place Cagayan, a province in the Philippines.

TV Guide shows that Survivor is set to premiere with a special two-hour episode on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 8/7c on CBS.
