Justin Bieber, 19, is addicted to high-brow cough syrup that contains a large dose of codeine, according to reports by TMZ.

TMZ’s sources confirm that the  “Baby” singer has a strong preference for Actavis brand Prometh with Codeine cough syrup. One pint — the largest available size — of the top-of-the-line brand sells for $800 illegally. The cough syrup is available by prescription or can be obtained overseas. Sources tell TMZ that Bieber obtains the cough syrup through a contact in another country.

The same sources claim Bieber consumes between 8 and 12 ounces each day.

Bieber recently made headlines for egging his neighbor’s house on Jan. 9.

“It was about 7:30 p.m. and I was in my house upstairs with my daughter,” the neighbor later told E! News. “We began to hear something hitting the house, like rocks and things crashing into the window. We went to our outside balcony and saw [Justin] standing in my front yard, ripping eggs at my house.”

“I screamed at him, he yelled back at me,” the neighbor continued. “[Justin] said, ‘Yeah I got another one for you,’ and threw more eggs. Then I called the sheriff. Obviously my daughter was very frightened having eggs thrown at her. It was unprovoked as I have not seen the kid in months, so I have no idea what prompted him to do this.”

Police later raided Bieber’s home in an attempt to procure evidence.

The singer was most recently spotted snowboarding in Aspen, Colo. A Jan. 18 selfie post to his Instagram account shows the tattooed pop singer sticking out his tongue. The image is captioned, “Snowboarding with the fellas.”

According to TMZ, Bieber’s “people” are encouraging him to enter rehab to treat his addiction. The singer remains resistant to the idea.
