Ashlee Simpson, 29, has announced on Twitter that she is engaged to actor/son of legendary singer Diana Ross, Mr. Evan Ross, 25. “My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii !!!!!” she wrote. In response, Ross tweeted, “The love of my life said YES!!!!!!” The happy couple seems well on their way to a start of a happy life together.

Evan’s family tree is headed up by none other than the Queen Diva, singing legend, Diana Ross. The Verdict: Diana Ross, 69, told Us back in October that this Grammy-winning mother, approves of Simpson, saying, “She loves her!”

Meanwhile, Jessica Simpson, 33, and her fiancé/former NFL player Eric Johnson, hope to tie the knot themselves, this year. She told Good Morning America’s lifestyle anchor Lara Spencer, “We don’t have an actual wedding date, but we do know that we want it to be this year.” She went on, “We need to get married!” Could it be a double wedding? Older sister Jessica seems to definitely approve of her younger sibling’s choice of man, posing in pictures with the couple at red carpet events and family gatherings.

Us Weekly reported that Evan has already welcomed Simpson’s 5-year-old son, Bronx, from her previous marriage to Pete Wentz, into his heart. Over the holidays, Ross tweeted, “Can’t wait! Christmas with my baby @ashleesimpson and Bronx spending xmas with mom! Can’t wait! It’s a family affair!” It’s about to become an even bigger family, with Evan Ross as the newest edition to the Simpson clan.
