The young bride defends her decision.
Legendary singer Whitney Houston had one of the greatest singing voices of all time.
Before her tragic passing, she also had a short-lived reality show called The Houstons: On Our Own, which aired on the Lifetime network. On the show, Houston’s daughter and only child, Bobbi Kristina Brown (her name is an homage to father Bobby Brown) seemed to be in love with her sort-of brother, Nick Gordon.
Nick Gordon, 24, was like a brother to her and it certainly seemed that way on the show. He lived in the house and acted like family. The two would amicably spar, revealing some perhaps, more romantic intentions on the sides of both parties. When Bobbi Kristina and Nick officially became an item, it was apparent that the matriarch of the house, Whitney, was not pleased with the sudden arrangement, but she eventually came around.
Whitney would joke that she always knew the two would end up together. Was it a mother’s intuition? Or some seriously serendipitous matchmaking?
After all, he’s not actually her brother; though he did grow up in the house with Whitney and Bobby and Bobbi Kristina from the time he was twelve. Everybody treated him like family, so there were familial elements to the dynamic of their relationship. But just like certain members of the Brady Bunch, they were never actually fully related.
Bobbi Kristina Brown took to Twitter on Thursday to share pictures of the newly married couple’s wedding rings. Her sparkly painted nails covered her honey’s hand where the two rings could be seen cuddled right next to each other. The 20-yr-old celebrity is proud of her hubby and defends her decision to be with the man she loves. In July 2013, she wrote on Facebook: “Let me clear something up, we aren’t even real brother and sister, nor is he my adoptive brother. My mom never adopted him. In fact, mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating.”
After experiencing some serious heckling from outsiders who didn’t seem to understand the couple’s real love for one another, Bobbi Kristina again went on Facebook to say, “People seriously need to stop judging my relationship. It’s my own decision who I want to be with. No my relationship is not perfect. We will have rough times, just like every other couple. You may or may not agree with or even respect the relationship. Go ahead and judge me, it is my life and not yours. The decisions I make have nothing to do with you.”
After the heartbreak and loss the couple experienced with Whitney’s passing, the bonding between them has been surely deepened and their support for one another seems very important. After all, Bobbi Kristina was only 18, when her beloved mother passed suddenly and tragically. The unfortunate event might have unraveled Bobbi Kristina, but, despite grim circumstances she remained strong and perhaps leaned on then-fiancé Nick Gordon for support.
There has not been any mention of whether or not the couple partook in a wedding ceremony, but perhaps after the excitement over the nuptials dies down, the couple will feel more comfortable sharing their special moment with the world.
In the meantime, Bobbi Kristina has intimated on her Twitter page that there may be even bigger news coming up. “BIGGGG things in store guys . . . I’m so excited!” she wrote. “We bouta change the world babbbbby! #bringEmOut! #Getready! xO!”
Could there be a little baby bun in the oven?
