Ke$ha's single "Tik Tok" is the second best-selling digital single in history.
26-year-old singer-rapper Ke$ha is trading in her cut-off shorts and cowboy boots for a pair of Ugg boots and some much needed TLC.
The MTV star has announced to TMZ that she will be “unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder.”
The announcement comes just days after the premiere of her most recent raunchy video “Dirty Love”, where she flashes her breasts and flaunts some serious booty in some hand-selected X-rated outfits. With champagne spraying and beer being poured all over her glittered body, the music video was also her directorial debut.
Ke$ha has always been known for her hard-partying ways, but it seems this time it’s taken a toll on her body, as well as her self-esteem.
Former Disney star Demi Lovato opened up about her struggle with an eating disorder, after she left the same rehab Ke$ha is attending now, Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Centre, just outside of Chicago.
Demi Lovato confessed to The Daily Mail that she quit the popular Disney show “Sonny With A Chance”, because she “couldn’t bear to see her body on camera.” Lovato chose to enter rehab for three months after being confronted for punching a back-up dancer, while on tour with the Jonas Brothers.
Ke$ha’s body image issues may just be the tip of the iceberg. Her ongoing emotional turbulence is evidenced by lyrics like the ones in her song “Hungover” : “Now the party’s over/ And everybody’s gone/ I’m left here with myself and I wonder what went wrong/ And now my heart is broken/ Like the bottles on the floor.”
Maybe now Ke$ha realizes it’s time to take the partying down a notch and bring the focus back to taking care of herself and doing what she does best: making music.
As an artist, Ke$ha has been nominated for over 40 awards, sold over 33 million records, and her single “Tik Tok” is the second best-selling digital single in history.
This girl knows what it takes to be a success!
