Hide your kids, hide your wife: Amanda Bynes is on the loose

Former child star Amanda Bynes leaves rehab, but what's next for the troubled starlet?

America’s Sweetheart Amanda Bynes has had a tough year. After a series of increasingly bizarre behavior and public appearances, Bynes was eventually forcibly hospitalized in July after starting a fire in a residential driveway, and was kept in the psychiatric ward of the UCLA Medical Center. In August she was transferred to a rehab facility in Malibu, where she remained as the world breathed a little easier. Until now.

According to a December 5 report from People, Amanda Bynes has completed her inpatient treatment and is at home with her parents. Her plans? Why, college, of course! Maybe even a fashion line, who knows? The sky’s the limit for a bright young starlet with such an impeccable record of success. Bynes issued a statement through attorney Tamar Arminak, who elaborates: “She’s now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design,” the statement continues. “She’s mentioned before she’s interested in creating a clothing line.”

Though released from the facility, Amanda’s not completely out of the woods yet.

“Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She’s very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared,” Arminak said. Byne’s mother Lynn will retain control of her finances and “well-being” for the indefinite future.

Amanda Bynes has been active in Hollywood since the age of seven, beginning with commercial work in 1993. She’s gone on to star on screens both large and small, from Nickelodeon’s All That to the 2010’s Easy A. She is perhaps best known for the 2007 hit Hairspray and throwing a marijuana smoking device out of a window when questioned by police.
