Will watching Jean Claude Van Damme, from films like “Universal Soldier” and “Expendables 2,” do an EPIC split between two moving Volvo semi trucks convince you that the company makes vehicles with excellent steering? Volvo sure hopes it does.

“Now I stand here before you. What you see is a body crafted to perfection,” Van Damme says in the jaw-dropping ad. “A pair of legs engineered to defy the laws of physics and a mindset to master the most epic of splits.”

As the camera pans out and Van Damme shows of an EPIC split, one can only wonder how the 53-year-old action star can still pull off stunts like this.

Despite the obvious need to install safety lines and airbrush them out for the final cut, Volvo spokesman Anders Vilhelmsson told USA Today that Van Damme’s death-defying split is real.

“There were rehearsals for several days,” he said. “But what you see in the film that is one take without any breaks.”
