Rapper Drake cancelled his concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia an hour after it was due to start, Philly.com reports.
According to the report, fans who were allowed into the Wells Fargo Center to see Drake perform were told later that the rapper had cancelled his concert. The concert was scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Philly.com notes that fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment beginning at 8:30 p.m.
“Due to the elaborate nature of tonight’s show and an unexpected technical issue, Drake’s ‘Would You Like A Tour?’ concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia has been postponed until Wednesday, December 18,” said Wells Fargo Center spokeswoman Rebecca Goodman in a statement obtained by Philly.com.
NME notes that the Philadelphia concert was suppose to be the second show on the rapper’s 39-stop “Would You Like A Tour? tour of North America. Although the tour started in Pittsburgh on Friday, it seems that fans now have an answer to the question posed by the name of Drake’s tour.
NME adds that Drake is accompanied by Miguel, PartyNextDoor and rapper Future.
If you read through a recap of Drake’s performance in Pittsburgh by MTV News, you’ll see that the rapper’s concert featured a number of technical components that may have become an issue when his team prepared for his performance in Philadelphia.
