Is Bigfoot real?
A team of researchers from the Sasquatch Genome Project recently presented “definitive video and DNA evidence” from Bigfoot. The Sasquatch Genome Project led a five-year study and genomic sequencing of Bigfoot DNA, “Novel North American Hominins, Next Generation Sequencing of Three Whole Genomes and Associated Studies.” According to the group, the study passed scientific peer review in January and was published in February.
“We want people to understand that this is a serious study,” project leader Dr. Melba Ketchum, a genetics scientist, told CBS DFW.
Despite the group’s evidence, as well as plenty of photo and video evidence obtained by amateurs in recent years, there are a lot of people who say that Bigfoot doesn’t exist.
“People have chosen not to believe it,” said businessman and Bigfoot supporter Adrian Erickson, according to CBS DFW. “They can’t find it in their minds to think these things exist.”
The group’s report states:
”Approximately one hundred and thirteen separate samples of hair, blood, mucus, toenail, bark scrapings, saliva and skin with hair and subcutaneous tissue attached were submitted by dozens of individuals and groups from thirty-four separate hominin collection sites around North America Samples of hair collected from this wooden structure in the woods is said to have contained a never-before-seen genetic structure that is said to be human.”
According to CBS DFW, the Sasquatch Genome Project says that it trailed a mother and daughter in Kentucky gathering thermal evidence, video, as well as images of large hands and footprints. The group is confident that there are thousands of these animals roaming the United States.
According to the New York Daily News, the Sasquatch Genome Project was able to examine all of the samples obtained due to a $500,000 donation from Erickson.
Although there are plenty of people who believe in Bigfoot, Discovery News reports that there are also a lot of people who have confessed to creating fake Bigfoot evidence. In fact, a man in Montana died in 2012 while putting together a Bigfoot hoax. Randy Lee Tenley was reportedly killed by cars as he stood in dark clothing near a highway at night and tried to convince someone to call in a Bigfoot sighting.
Is Bigfoot real? What do you think of the evidence presented by the Sasquatch Genome Project? Will researchers ever find definitive proof of Bigfoot? Have you ever seen Bigfoot? Do you know of anyone who tried to pull of a Bigfoot hoax? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments section.
