Are you happy for Bass and Turchin?

‘N Sync star Lance Bass is engaged to boyfriend Michael Turchin, a source has confirmed to PEOPLE. If you need additional proof, simply look no further than Bass’ Instagram account.

The former boy band member posted a picture of Turchin’s black diamond band with the following tweet: “He said YES!! Love this man @michaelturchinart.”

“They’re such a great couple, everyone is so happy for them,” a source recently told Us Weekly in response to Bass’ announcement. “Their friends and family are thrilled.”

According to the New York Daily News, Bass and Turchin have been dating since 2011. Bass reportedly proposed in New Orleans.

Bass has been in the news lately for an entirely different reason. He and the rest of ‘N Sync reunited at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Although their brief performance with Timberlake was overshadowed by Miley Cyrus’ onstage antics with “Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke, they once again demonstrated the appeal of boy bands with their trademark songs “Girlfriend” and “Bye Bye Bye.”

Following his onstage performance, Bass paid tribute to Turchin and his former band.

“For the first time ever I got to perform w *NSYNC as an out entertainer and was thinking of this man,” Bass tweeted on Aug. 28. The tweet included a photo of him and Turchin in front of an MTV moonman.

In 2006, Bass came out. After first sharing the news with family and friends, Bass told PEOPLE that he had kept his sexual orientation a secret during his years with bandmates Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake because he didn’t want his announcement to “overpower everything.”
