Bieber continues to be in the news.
Twenty-year-old rapper Lil Twist was arrested early Thursday morning at 3:30 and charged with DUI. Lil Twist was allegedly smoking marijuana at the time of his arrest, which occurred behind the wheel of one of Justin Bieber’s cars.
Lil Twist, whose real name is Christopher Moore, was originally pulled over for suspicion of drunk driving and speeding in a construction zone. The posted speed limit for the work area was 30 MPH and Lil Twist was clocked going between 60 and 70 MPH. According to TMZ, when the police approached the vehicle, Lil Twist had a lit blunt in the car. Lil Twist was driving Bieber’s $200,000 chrome Fisker Karma at the time of his arrest.
After spending eight hours in custody, Lil Twist was released on a $5,000 bond. Neither the rapper nor his spokesperson have released a statement regarding the arrest. Hours before he got busted, Lil Twist posted the following on Twitter about media interviews: “Attn all media outlets…..I’m done with all interviews for a good minute !!! My movement is only gonna get bigger !!” He then directs anyone who wants to ask him questions to tune in to his video stream on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
If Lil Twist is only found guilty of a misdemeanor possession charge, he faces up to 10 days in jail. Should the rapper be charged and found guilty of DUI, he could lose his license for a year, have to attend DUI school and pay hundreds of dollars in fines. Bieber’s Fisker Karma may also spend up to 10 days in the impound lot, according to California state laws.
The incident on Thursday morning wasn’t the first time Lil Twist has gotten in trouble with one of Bieber’s luxury cars. The rapper has had trouble with the Fisker Karma when he was pulled over for an illegal lane change and when he messed up the body work a little during a liquor store run. Lil Twist was also pulled over back in May for speeding in Bieber’s Ferrari, but was let off with a warning. The most expensive luxury car screw-up Lil Twist has had with a Bieber vehicle was near the beginning of the year when he did $10,000 worth of damage to the Ferrari in The Four Seasons parking lot. The hotel covered the damages.
Lil Twist is currently signed to Young Money Entertainment, a label founded by Lil Wayne. Lil Twist’s first studio album, “Bad Decisions,” is expected to be released later this summer.
