Amanda Bynes: ‘I’m becoming more famous’ each day

Bynes: I'm famous.

Amanda Bynes has once again taken to Twitter to proclaim her innocence regarding her May 23 arrest.

E! Online reports that the 27-year-old former What I Like About You star provided an update on the status of her case Monday and explained how her so-called wrongful arrest is gaining her more attention.

She tweeted, “The DA and my lawyer talked today. They have no proof of drugs on me or around me at anytime during the arrest of after. All I’m becoming is more famous! Thanks for lying about me!”

Bynes is suspected of smoking marijuana in the lobby of her New York apartment and throwing a bong out her window to hide evidence of such an event. She is facing charges of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and the criminal possession of marijuana. A court date is set for July 7.

Besides her lawyer, another person that is coming to Bynes’ defense is her DUI attorney Richard Hutton, who recently told People magazine that it “doesn’t seem like much of a case” as there is “no physical evidence to back it up.”

Last week, the actress went on a Twitter rampage, saying that she was going to sue the NYPD for illegally entering her apartment and lying about her having drugs. She also accused an arresting officer of sexual arrest, to which the NYPD has denied any misconduct or wrongdoing in relation to her arrest.

Moreover, she said she was going to sue her Manhattan apartment complex for lying about her smoking, however it seems they have taken action against her first. In Touch Weekly reports that Bynes has been evicted from her apartment. According to the magazine, she was informed that she was “no longer welcome[d] as a tenant in the building” after her arrest due to complaints from residents that she was smoking. An NYPD insider told In Touch that the eviction was a long-time coming as there had been previous complaints about the smell of marijuana from her apartment and complaints that she was cursing out residents, as well as doormen.

In addition to defending herself, Bynes has used Twitter in recent days to reveal that she had a nose job and to call both her dad and drag queen RuPaul “ugly,” according to The Huffington Post. She also used her social media account to call People magazine writers “faggots” for their media coverage on her behavior.
