Have you played 'Curiosity?'
The setting of Curiosity: What’s Inside the Cube? is a massive cube made of billions of smaller cubes. Players click on the small cubes to make their way through the surface. The ultimate goal of the games is to reach the enter of the giant cube and to find out what is inside the cube.
Curiosity was designed by legendary game designer Peter Molyneux. Molyneux promised that the winner of his game would discover a “life-changing” prize. After several months of waiting, a winner has been found. Eighteen-year-old Bryan Henderson from Edinburgh, Scotland, removed the last cube, according to 22Cans’ Facebook page.
Wired reports that the secret was revealed to the first person who made it all of the way to the center of the giant cube. The cube was composed of 25 billion cubelets. Tapping on one cube removed it and revealed another cube underneath. Removing 25 billion cubelets took some help, which is why the free-to-play app was downloaded by tens of thousands of people, hoping to be the first to reach the cube’s center.
“After 25 billion cubelets have been destroyed, over 150 days… we have reached the end,” Molyneux said in a video that was first shown to Henderson. “How can anything be worth all that effort?”
So what exactly is this “life-changing” secret that everyone has been talking about? The Verge says that Henderson will become the king of Godus, not only setting the game’s rules but earning a share of its success. In the video to Henderson, Molyneux said that the winner will “accrue riches from that game, from the start to finish of your reign.”
According to 22Cans, Henderson will receive a payout every time someone spends money on Godus. That is certainly life changing, especially if you’re only 18 years old.
According to The Verge, Godus is the follow-up to Molyneux’s Populous, which was released back in 1989. Godus is set to be released in September.
