Lil Wayne discusses his recent health issues.
Lil Wayne was hospitalized last week for having another seizure, which he opened up about during an interview on MTV.
This time the seizure scare wasn’t too bad, as fans will recall that Lil Wayne was hospitalized at Cedars for a week in March after having a seizure that nearly took his life. It was only after this hospitalization that Lil Wayne came clean with his fans about being an epileptic.
As scary as having a seizure sounds, Lil Wayne says that he doesn’t remember them. “I go to sleep and wake up in the hospital,” Lil Wayne said during an appearance on MTV’s RapFix Live. Lil Wayne said that he doesn’t experience any symptoms to give him a warning that the seizure is about to happen.
The rapper says he thinks he is an epileptic because of stress. “The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself.”
This makes sense, considering Lil Wayne has had a lot on his plate recently with the release of his new studio album I Am Not A Human Being II and being a father to his four kids. Since Lil Wayne says that his work contributes to his seizures, his fans can only wonder if part of doing everything he can to keep the seizures from occurring will be cutting back on his workload, which includes producing his own music, working with other artists and endorsements.
Whether or not the seizures will cause him to cut back on music remains to be seen, but Lil Wayne’s fans will be happy to hear that he is doing everything he can to prevent the seizures from happening. During the interview he said that he is doing everything the doctor has told him to do, including eating right and getting enough rest.
Lil Wayne says that the seizures don’t usually have much of an effect on him after they’re over. “I’m good; I’m 100 percent,” Lil Wayne promised. Since Lil Wayne has been busy in recent weeks promoting his new sneaker line Spectre by SUPRA, it’s a good thing the seizures don’t typically keep him out for long.
In other Lil Wayne news, the rapper was dropped by Pepsi just days ago because of offensive lyrics about Civil Rights icon Emmett Till. Lil Wayne was featured in Future’s song called “Karate Chop (remix)” where he rapped about treating a female like Till, who was beaten to death at age 14.
