Beyonce releases new single, shows off beach body in new H&M ad

Earlier this month, Beyonce released the single "Grown Woman" in a Pepsi commercial.

Fans who have been eagerly anticipating the release of Beyonce’s fifth studio album–now two years in the making–got a little taste of what some of her new material may be like with her new single “Standing on the Sun.”

The song is featured in a 90-second ad for clothing line H&M’s summer collection and was shot in the Bahamas. Rapper Timbaland provided the beat for the song and Jonas Akerlund, who won a Grammy for his work with Madonna, directed the video.

Beyonce and her entourage of backup dancers all wear swimsuits of different colors and styles while seductively playing in the sand and water. Beyonce even goes through a hair color change throughout the video, going from blond to brunette.  Beyonce fans can view the video on YouTube.

This isn’t the only new music Beyonce has released via commercial this month. Earlier this month, she released the single “Grown Woman” in a Pepsi commercial. Interestingly enough, Beyonce went through a similar blond-to-brunette hair color change for that commercial as well. Last month, Beyonce released the single “Bow Down/I Been On” on her blog. She is coming out with so many singles that fans may be able to piece together their own album.

Beyonce is currently on tour in Europe for the “Mrs. Carter World Tour” and will make it to the United States for the stateside portion of the tour at the end of June. Beyonce reportedly performed the “Grown Woman” single at a show in Paris, so maybe she is trying to generate interest in her new music before releasing an album.

The pop singer has been the center of criticism for a rule regarding her tour, which bans all flash photography from her concerts.  This rule is enforced after controversy relating to a picture of her taken during the Super Bowl that made waves on the Internet.  After the Super Bowl, someone posted a rather unflattering photo of Beyonce online and her publicist asked for it to be removed. Instead, the photo went viral and was used in quite a few photoshopping contests.  Rather than risk any bad pictures hitting the Internet again, Beyonce is limiting the use of flash photography to the professionals she hires.
