Letterman questions Lohan.
Despite all the flak Lindsay Lohan has gotten in recent months, she successfully pulled off an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman.”
This was Lohan’s first appearance on the “Late Show” in six years, and with some of the recent troubles she has faced, some found it surprising and courageous that she decided to put herself out there with a comedian whose job in part is to make jokes at her expense.
While Letterman did get a few jabs in, including, “Yes or no, do you steal stuff?” Lohan handled it all very well. When Letterman jokingly asked, “Aren’t you supposed to be in rehab now?” Lohan quickly retorted, “Do you not watch anything that goes on?”
Throughout the interview, Lohan talked about her past troubles, her work as an actress and her upcoming rehab date. Lohan is due at a rehab center on May 2 in New York as part of her probation for a reckless driving charge she received late last year. She will spend 90 days there or may face jail time.
Letterman didn’t hesitate to ask the tough questions and even showed the troubled actress a list of questions he had prepared for her. Lohan seemed surprised at some of the questions, which included questions about the alleged loan to pay a tax bill she received from Scary Movie 5 and Anger Management co-star Charlie Sheen and whether she had managed to save any money.
Even though Lohan referred to herself as a “target” as far as her troubles go, she did take responsibility for her actions by saying, “I’ve put myself in the situations in the past where I take full responsibility for it, and it wasn’t funny. I was being immature. I was going through a phase. I had a lot of family stuff going on and things in life. You grow up, you mature,” Lohan said.
Some Lohan critics might disagree on the part where she says she is growing up and maturing, considering she is still out clubbing while she waits to go to rehab and making jokes about being pregnant on Twitter, but time will tell if there is any truth to her words.
Despite some of the cracks and tough questions he had prepared, Letterman made Lohan tear up near the end of the interview by saying, “You have enough spine, enough sense of yourself, enough poise to come out here and talk to me.”
