Actress Scarlett Johansson recently opened up to Marie Claire about the end of her marriage to actor Ryan Reynolds. Johansson and Reynolds split in 2010 after two years of marriage. In a statement at the time, Reynolds’ rep. said the couple ended their marriage with “love and kindness.”

Since the divorce, Reynolds and Johansson have been mum about the reason behind their breakup. In the May issue of Marie Claire, the “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” actress says she likes her privacy and doesn’t understand why people feel a need to “share” every little detail about their time on earth. She said that people sometimes “exploit” themselves to feel seen.

While certainly not shy about taking on interesting roles, Johansson has been less than candid about her personal life. However, she told Marie Claire that enough time has passed that she is “able to move forward” with her life.

Johansson is currently dating creative agency manager Romain Dauriac, but she has also dated actor Sean Penn and several other notable celebrities.

According to Johansson, growing older has helped her in her relationships. The key, she said, has been getting to know herself a little better.
