"Betrayal" is set to have a limited 14-week run at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.
The rumors have been confirmed: James Bond actor Daniel Craig is set to star with his wife Rachel Weisz in Harold Pinter’s “Betrayal” on Broadway. This isn’t Craig’s first time on Broadway. Reuters reports that the seasoned actor starred in 2009’s “A Steady Rain.”
Weisz is an accomplished actress as well. In fat, she won an Oscar for 2005’s “The Constant Gardener” and received positive reviews for her stage performances inĀ “Suddenly, Last Summer” and “A Streetcar Named Desire.”
Craig and Weisz were married in 2011 after falling for each other while filming “Dream House” together.
“Betrayal” is about adultery; a difficult topic for any married couple to discuss. Pinter’s “Betrayal” follows the story of a publisher whose wife is have an affair with his literary-agent friend. Though the subject matter may be difficult, Craig and Weisz are extremely excited to be involved in the play. In fact, Weisz recently told E! News that she and Craig were hoping to be given starring roles in the Broadway play.
“Life of Pi” actor Rafe Spall will also star in “Betrayal.”
Craig is coming off of a career-high moment as James Bond in the most successful Bond film in the long-running franchise’s history. “Skyfall” passed the $1 billion mark at the global box office by the end of 2012 and earned high marks from critics.
