The comedian, who was reportedly making somewhere in the ballpark of $25-$30 million annually before the pay cut, is now pulling in $20 million per year.
According to an unnamed source cited by the New York Post, Seth Meyers is going to replace Fallon when the “Saturday Night Live” alum moves over to “The Tonight Show,” a gig that has been occupied by Leno since 1992 when the comedian replaced the legendary Johnny Carson. Meyers is SNL’s head writer and Weekend Update host.
According to the source, Lorne Michaels would like Seth to replace Fallon. “30 Rock” star Tina Fey was briefly considered for the gig but she turned it down because a number of other projects need her focus and attention. In the meantime, NBC is constructing an impressive studio for Fallon at 30 Rock.
