Have you ever seen Nicki Minaj without her trademark pink lipstick? If you haven’t, take a gander at the April issue of ELLE Magazine. Minaj told ELLE that she felt “naked” without her pink lipstick.

“To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol’ crazy lashes— you know, nothing— I felt naked,” she said.

Minaj knows a thing or two about fashion. According to Huff Post Style, Minaj has her own Kmart clothing line. Minaj, as well as “The Voice’s” Adam Levine, will “design and develop” clothing and accessories for Kmart stories starting sometime this year. And, the rapper reportedly has her own fragrance.

Minaj also discussed her experience being bullied as a child. The “Idol” judge, who was born in St. James, Trinidad and Tobago, said that girls teased her because of her accent when she came to the United States. “So I’ve always put up this wall…And I still have it. It’s sad,” she said.

Despite her defense mechanism, Minaj has grown into a strong, confident woman. “Even if you’re doing a nine-to-five job, treat yourself like a boss,” she suggested. Minaj pointed out that it’s all about giving people the impression that you mean business at work and in life.

Minaj told ELLE that her ultimate goal is to “build an empire” and “world domination” (her first goal was to buy a house for her mom). She said she hopes to build up enough wealth to pay her grandchildren’s way through college.

According to Life & Style Weekly, Minaj showed up 15 minutes late to “American Idol’s” first live show on Wednesday. Host Ryan Seacrest said that Minaj was late because of “congestion on the 405.” Life & Style Weekly notes that Mariah Carey “rolled her eyes and twirled her hair” when she found out about Minaj’s lateness.

Minaj is reportedly feuding with Carey after an incident that is said to have taken place back in October. Carey claims that Minaj said she would “shoot that bitch” if she had a gun, prompting the singer to tell Barbara Walters during an interview that “it felt like an unsafe work environment.”
