Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has some tips for young actors: Learn how to fall off of buildings and gain some weight.

The veteran action star was asked Thursday his advice for the next generation of action movie stars.  Schwarzenegger, who stars in the new movie The Last Stand, offered his advice.

“All you have to do is gain fifty pounds of muscles, gain a little bit in height and in your acting [abilities],” he said in an interview with MTV. “Be able to do the stunts, throw yourself around, be able to fall off buildings, be able to be shot at, all these kinds of things.”

The role is a bit of change for the former bodybuilder who launched an acting career more than forty years ago. The Last Stand is the first Hollywood film produced by South Korean director Jee-woon Kim. The film comes packed with a series of massive explosions and is true to Schwarzenegger’s blockbuster swagger.  With a budget of only $30 million, the film lacks some of the big screen niceties the audience has come to expect, but critics seem to have regarded the movie as a safe move for the action star’s return to the big screen.

Schwarzenegger, who ended his marriage with Maria Shriver in 2011, has sought to refocus his attention on his family life and movie career. Since leaving the governor’s mansion, the action movie star has focused on his family and reigniting his movie career with the next generation of Schwarzenegger-esque movies.

It remains unclear whether Schwarzenegger can capture the same audience he left Hollywood with before running for governor of California. The action star has not fully ended his career in politics. Speaking to an online audience earlier this week, Schwarzenegger answered a series of questions on the popular social media network, Reddit. Schwarzenegger used his time to talk politics, saying the Republican Party should consider its messaging when discussing a wide range of issues, including gun control and abortion.

“The most important thing is that we need to be a party that is inclusive and tolerant. We can be those things and be the party we always have been. We need to think about the environment – Teddy Roosevelt was a great environmentalist and people forget Reagan was the one who dealt with the ozone layer with the Montreal protocol,” wrote Schwarzenegger. “We also need to talk about healthcare honestly – Nixon almost passed universal healthcare. We need to have an talk about immigration and realize you can’t just deport people. We need a comprehensive answer. We also need to stay out of people’s bedrooms. The party that is for small government shouldn’t be over-reaching into people’s private lives.”
