Lohan fires her lawyer.
Lindsay Lohan has fired L.A. lawyer Shawn Holley, according to TMZ.com. Sources told the website that Lohan hired New York attorney Mark Heller to replace Holley. Facing criminal charges in both California and New York, Lohan must have felt that a New York lawyer gave her a better shot at avoiding jail time. TMZ says that this may be “one of the worst decisions of her life,” as Holley has kept Lohan out of jail numerous times.
Sources associated with the L.A. criminal case against Lohan told TMZ that Heller wrote a termination letter to Holley. Sources also told the website that Holley was on her way to the L.A. courthouse when Heller sent his letter.
In TMZ’s latest report on this developing story, Lohan is said to be denying that she fired her lawyer. In fact, she is telling associates that she never told Heller to send a letter of termination to Holley. Either Lohan is lying or Heller likes making decisions on his own.
TMZ has learned that Lohan may not be telling the truth. Sources associated with the N.Y. attorney told TMZ that Lohan signed the letter he sent to Holley on Monday.
Here’s where the story gets even more confusing. Now, Lindsay is reportedly telling her friends that she wants Holley as her lawyer again. TMZ says that Lohan has authorized Heller to send Holley another letter cancelling the termination letter.
According to US Weekly, Lohan was due for a court appearance last Monday, but was a no-show at the court hearing.
“It may very well be this case does not move forward…ironically a psychic fortune teller has predicted the year 2013 will be an extremely lucky year for Lindsay Lohan,” Heller told reporters before leaving the courthouse.
Lohan was set to appear in court Monday to face a misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly punching Palm Beach psychic Tiffany Mitchell at Avenue Nightclub on November 29, 2012.
“From my understanding, Lindsay was being approached by a fortune teller who sought to provide a reading to her and she politely said ‘I don’t want to participate’ and declined,” Heller added. “You would think if [Mitchell] was a fortune teller, she would have been able to see this happening in advance. But obviously her skills weren’t that honed.”
US Weekly notes that Lohan will not be required in court for the psychic assault case until formal paper have been filed.
