Timberlake returns.
He may have taken some time off to do movies and get married to long time girlfriend (now wife), actress Jessica Biel, but pop star Justin Timberlake is back and in a big way, with the release of his new song, ‘Suit and Tie,’ featuring Rapper, Jay-Z.
Fans of JT have known since last Thursday that something big was imminent. The pop star was dropping hints on Twitter to his fans, tweeting lyrics from his new hit, along with the revelation that he was back in the recording studio.
Today JT apologized for being such a tease in an open letter to his fans posted on his website, where he also shared the inspiration behind the song.
‘The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn’t expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I’ve has in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process. What I came up with is something I couldn’t be more excited about! It is full of inspiration that I grew up listening to and some newfound muses that I’ve discovered along the way,” wrote Timberlake.
You can also hear & buy ‘Suit and Tie’ now on iTunes. According to JT’s latest tweet, the song hit number one on iTunes today.
“Just woke up and heard we’re #1 on Itunes. Wow…Speechless. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Timberlake tweeted fans.
So far, ‘Suit and Tie’ is receiving a warm welcome from fans & critics. The song was written by Timberlake, Timbaland, Shawn Carter, R&B producer Jerome “J-ROC’ Harmon and James Flaunteroy. It was produced by Timbaland, Timberlake and Harmon.
There’s more to come, as Timberlake promises the release of his new album later this year, ‘The 20/20 Experience.’ The last time JT released an album was back in 2006 with his ‘FutureSex/Love Sounds.’ According to Timberlake, his comeback will not disappoint, ‘I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it. Get ready. This is going to be fun.’
