Cassadee Pope wins the third season of "The Voice."
“The Voice” results are in and the winner of season three is…Cassadee Pope. According to The Hollywood Gossip, Cassadee Pope of Team Blake was announced the winner of the third season of NBC’s “The Voice” on Tuesday night. While “The Voice” results were undoubtedly disappointing for her fellow competitors, Terry McDermott and Nicholas David, voters thought that Ms. Pope was most deserving of the crown.
“Holy moly cannoli!!!! I won!!!!!!!! Thank you all SO much. I’m absolutely in awe and so thankful for this incredible experience,” Ms. Pope tweeted Tuesday night after learning of the results.
Ms. Pope sang with her hero, Avril Lavigne, on Tuesday. The two sang together on Ms. Lavigne’s “I’m With You,” a song which Ms. Pope had sung earlier in the season.
“I don’t know,” Ms. Pope said when asked how it felt to win, according to CBS News. “I’m feeling amazing, thank you for everyone who voted for me and all the fans and Blake, the producers, wardrobe, Carson, the band, and Christina, everybody.”
The show’s judges took to Twitter to congratulate Ms. Pope.
“Congratulations to @CassadeePope AND @TerryMacMusic for taking this country by storm.. I love y’all!!!” country music star Blake Shelton tweeted after “The Voice” results were announced.
“HUGE congratulations to @CassadeePope! So happy for you and coach @BlakeShelton. Excited to watch your next amazing chapter!! XoXtina” Christina Aguilera tweeted after Tuesday’s finale.
The show’s third and final judge, however, did not congratulate Ms. Pope or Team Blake for their victory.
“Let’s all thank @thefeelin and each and every #TheVoice contestant from this season for the beautiful music! #TeamCeeLo will be back in 5,” Cee Lo Green tweeted.
“The Voice” has been a huge success for NBC. The fourth season of “The Voice” will feature Shakira and Usher, who will replace coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green.
According to Celebuzz, NBC’s “The Voice” results show was the most watched and highest rated finale ever with 14 million total viewers and a 4.9 rating among 18- to 49-year-olds.
Juliet Simms, season two’s runner up, told Billboard that Ms. Pope’s victory places her one step closer to achieving her dream.
“What she is doing is spot on — it’s what she has wanted to do since she was a little girl,” Ms. Simms said. “It’s so different watching her sing live as opposed to when we were touring together on the Warped tour. She was phenomenal then, but I feel like she gets to show the world her heart, the kind of person she is. She’s the sweetest, most loving person and that shines through when she sings.”
Ms. Pope founded Hey Monday in 2008 and toured with Fall Out Boy shortly thereafter. According to Billboard, Ms. Pope toured as a solo act prior to appearing on “The Voice.”
