Taylor Swift deals with her breakup from Conor Kennedy with an announcement for her next concert tour.
If you haven’t already heard by now, pop star Taylor Swift and Patrick Kennedy have reportedly ended their relationship. A singer-songwriter friend of Ms. Swift has confirmed the breakup to US Weekly.
At one time, the relationship was serious enough that Ms. Swift bought a house in Hyannis Port, Mass., across the street from Conor’s grandmother Ethel.
Ms. Swift, 22, and Patrick, 18, dated for several months. Patrick is the son of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy.
Fresh of her Kennedy breakup, Ms. Swift announced plans for “The Red Tour” Friday, a 58-stop concert tour that will start in 2013.
“I didn’t think I could be any more excited about my Red album, but then I start thinking about how I’m going to put the new show together for ‘The Red Tour,'” Ms. Swift said in a statement obtained by E!. “I have so many ideas about how to really bring this music to life, and I can’t wait to share the new show with all my fans!”
Ms. Swift spoke recently to Katie Couric on “Katie” about her love life.
“I don’t know how to have a normal relationship because I try to act normal and love from a normal place and live a normal life, but there is sort of an abnormal magnifying glass, like telescope lens, on everything that happens between me and anybody else,” she said. “So I don’t know how to do that correctly or anything. I don’t really know that much about love, it turns out.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, the “Katie” interview was taped on Monday before Ms. Swift and Conor allegedly ended their relationship.
Although Ms. Couric played a great therapist, others were also willing to lend their condolences after hearing that the pop star had broken up with a Kennedy. In fact, New York real estate mogul Donald Trump responded to a tweet from HuffPost reporter Sabrina Siddiqui asking him about the latest celebrity gossip.
“Re: Taylor and Conor–great news for Taylor!” Mr. Trump tweeted.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that the reality TV star has weighed in on the dating habits of today’s celebrity power couples.
“Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again — just watch. He can do much better!” Mr. Trump tweeted in mid-October.
“Katy Perry is no bargain but I don’t like John Mayer–he dates and tells–be careful Katy (just watch!),” the billionaire tweeted several days later.
Ms. Taylor has dated a number of high-profile men, E! notes, including John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and Cory Monteith.
Whether or not her concert tour will help her deal with her latest breakup, fans of Ms. Swift’s music are sure to enjoy “The Red Tour.”
