Arnold Schwarzenegger opens up about Maria Shriver and Miley Cyrus

The Terminator Genisys actor got personal during an appearance on the Howard Stern Show.

He’s back. Arnold Schwarzenegger opened up about both his ex-wife Maria Shriver and his son’s ex-girlfriend Miley Cyrus during a personal interview on the Howard Stern Show.

As Ace Showbiz reports, the former governor of California stopped by the radio broadcast on Wednesday June 24 to promote his upcoming film Terminator Genisys. Schwarzenegger, 67, spoke briefly about his 2011 divorce, calling it the “biggest setback” and “the biggest failure.”

He added, “you feel like, ‘I’m to blame for it. It was me that screwed up.’ And you can’t point the finger at anyone else. So yeah, I was disappointed at it.”

Schwarzenegger did say he still has a good relationship with his ex-wife as well as his four children, stating, “it really has worked out so well with the help of Maria.” He related that they had been especially supportive during his promotional travels for the new film.

As for Cyrus, Schwarzenegger denies any reports that he had found the singer to be a bad influence on his son Patrick. “My kids are very strong…so I was not worried about that,” he said.   The actor also said that when he had met Cyrus in Sun Valley, “I found out that she was a fantastic person.” While Patrick’s and Miley’s “great relationship” eventually “fell apart,” Schwarzenegger remains impressed by Cyrus.

Terminator Genisys, also starring Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones, comes out on July 1.
