ESPN reporter suspended for vicious verbal assault against parking attendant

ESPN reporter, Britt McHenry, has been suspended after verbally assaulting an attendant at a towing company.

A LiveLeak video circulated today, showing Britt McHenry throwing insults at a parking attendant after her car was towed. Despite warnings from the attendant that she was on camera, McHenry continues to state that she is “in the news” and that she will “f**king sue this place.”

The attendant shows incredible patience and composure throughout the whole ordeal, as McHenry throws out insults regarding the attendants education level and looks including:

“That’s why I have a degree and you don’t.”

“With no education, no skill set, just wanted to clarify that.”

“Maybe if I was missing some teeth they would hire me, huh?”

She ends the whole altercation with one last rude remark, saying “Lose some weight, baby girl.”

Why McHenry’s car was towed is still unclear though she tweeted on April 6th that she got towed in Arlington, Virginia. The tweet has since been deleted.

“In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things,” McHenry apologized in a statement release on twitter. “As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake.”

After seeing the video and reviewing it with McHenry, ESPN released a statement this evening stating, “Britt McHenry has been suspended for one week effectively immediately.”

The tow truck company has nothing but proud words for the attendant in the video, telling TMZ “She’s the kind of person we try to employ here. She handled this the right way. She kept her cool the whole time.”
