Two California women assault their son's tormentors

A mother and stepmother were arrested recently for assaulting two girls who had been bulling their son. According to the police report, they were both “sick of hearing about the boy getting bullied” so they decided to take matters into their own hands.

On March 17 at Cooper Academy in Fresno, California, the two woman drove up to the school and entered the cafeteria where an after school program was being attended by over 100 students.

The 12- year-old son pointed out the two girls who had been tormenting him. The two mothers then allegedly assaulted the girls, ages 12 and 13.

No one was injured, however, the two woman were arrested on on suspicion of felony conspiracy and misdemeanor cruelty to a child.

“Authorities say the boy had been complaining about being bullied by the girls for months and that the parents of the boy had talked to administrators about the problem but felt that nothing was being done about it,” according to a statement issued to KFSN – TV by the Fresno Unified School District.

The boy’s 15-year-old sister was also involved in the melee.

“The 15-year-old sister was arrested for the felony charge of conspiracy, and also she assaulted a school official who was trying to break it up – probably pushed her back or punched her – and the little boy was also arrested for the conspiracy charge,” said Fresno Police Lt. Joe Gomez.

Other parents in district were interviewed by local ABC reporters. In general, they did not condone the violent action of the two women but they could relate to the feeling that, as a parent, it was necessary to deal with the issue personally.

“I’ve been in a situation where my daughter was getting bullied,” said Michelle Balladarez. “I requested over and over for something to be done, and nothing’s ever been done.”
