Clinton’s emails will all be made public by Jan 2016

Over 55,000 emails sent by then Secretary of State Hilary Clinton will be made available to the public before the 2016 election.

The United States Department of State has proposed to release the second batch of Hilary Clinton’s emails on June 30. Thereafter, they will release another set of emails every 60 days. Under this scheme, all of the 55,000 emails would be made public by January 2016.

“The Department proposes that it make its next production of non-exempt portions of the emails by posting them on the website on June 30, 2015, and that it make rolling productions in the same way every 60 days thereafter,” said lawyers from the Justice Department in a court filling Tuesday night. “The Department will strive to produce as many documents as possible on each production date, and will file a status report one week after each production to inform the Court of the number of pages posted.”

Clinton’s email account should have been hosted on a government server. However, during her tenure as secretary of state, she used a private email account from a private server. Since this revelation, Clinton has come under heavy criticism.

The emails will be released thanks to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by Jason Leopold of Vice News.

Already, some 850 pages of emails have been made available to the public. In these emails, which are related to the 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans, Clinton worries about how she will be portrayed after she failed to prevent the attacks.

Clinton has said that she wants the emails to be released. There is no telling how the emails could effect her 2016 bid for presidency.
